Despite the Rec and Park Commission's unanimous approval of a two year lease for Blue Bottle's presence in Dolores Park, City Insider reports the plan has been put on hold due to a wealth of new opposition among "activists and dog owners." SFoodie ads a good bit of color here, saying that 18th Street Corridor merchants are also protesting the trailer because they didn't receive proper notice from the Commission. The promised lease for a La Cocina/El Huarache Loco trailer has also been suspended. Adding further distress to the matter, both Blue Bottle and La Cocina have already funneled tens of thousands into customized trailers for the park. Both leases will be reassessed at a community meeting at Dolores Park Church on Sept. 27; so show up then to voice your opinions and feel free to give them a dry run here in the comments.
