Ah, The Summit. First there were Batman shenanigans and some other stunts then revelations and several delays. And now it's still not sure when opening day is -- although Thursday looks promising, if inspections go well -- so we're going to show you the completed interior here and break out the opening menu for your perusal. Remember this is ex-Poleng Lounge owner Desi Danganan's new counter-service cafe, inspired by urban sociologist Ray Oldenburg’s ‘third space’ theory, lauding the role of public gathering spaces in smoothly functioning societies. In other words, you'll probably want to grab a bite here with some friends and it'll probably be one of the Mission's few good spots for a business meeting. The menu will shift throughout the day: from Blue Bottle coffee and pastries in the morning to salads and such at lunch to entrees and a rotating guest pastry chef program in the evenings. They're also merging with an art gallery called "The Peek," offering rotating art exhibitions, the first of which will be 50 artistically notable record album covers released between the 1960s up to present day. Fingers crossed we'll be able to see it all next week.
