In honor of this weekend's Le Grand Fooding coastal cook-off, Plum/Coi chef Daniel Patterson explains West Coast cuisine in this largely beautiful meditation on what it means to tell a story with food. But he manages to squeeze in some rally cries and a direct jab at David Chang in at the end: "New Yorkers' love affair with tuna tartare has inexplicably entered its third decade.
