Yelp Top Ten 2010 Restos, Whole Beast Supper Club, More!

YELP WANTED - Everyone's favorite user-generated review site, Yelp has released its hottest restaurants of 2010 lists. On the national list, San Francisco's Ike's Place grabbed second place (!), with Bi-Rite Creamery and Brenda's French Soul Food holding slots six and ten, respectively. There's also a local San Francisco top 10 list, wherein the rabble rousers chose: Ike's Place, Bi-Rite Creamery, Brenda's French Soul Food, Tartine Bakery, Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream, Katana-Ya, SO, San Tung Chinese Restaurant, NOPA and Mama's. Average star rating and total review count all factor into these ratings. And since nobody shills on Yelp, they are fairly reliable. [Yelp!]

MISSION - A new "underground" dinner club called Whole Beast Supper Club will have its debut 5-course pork tasting dinner at La Victoria Bakery on January 14th. HAYES VALLEY - Jardiniere is starting Wednesday wine nights tomorrow with 50% off bottles from a specific region. Tomorrow's is Burgundy, for example. The only other rule is, wine must be purchased between 7:30 and 10 p.m. [EaterWire]

SUNSET - Social Kitchen & Brewery is hosting its next special dinner, featuring "re-envisioned" cafeteria food paired with beer, on January 12th. Lets just say the menu has a dessert called “Mac & Cheese” made with goat cheese ice cream and toasted-macaroni-honey clusters. LAKE MERCED - The deadline for the Lake Merced Boathouse RFP we mentioned back in October has been extended. Last call for submissions is now a month later on March 4th.
