Incanto Reopens, Barry Bonds NOT at Epic Roasthouse, More!

New, 9 comments

NOE VALLEY - Chris Cosentino is reopening Incanto tonight after a 10-day holiday hiatus.

EMBARCADERO - Our sources say Barry Bonds ate at Epic Roasthouse on Monday night before the Giants took on the Phillies at AT&T Park. According to the source: "Barry dined with three unidentified women and the table feasted on two filets [sic], one oven roasted whole fish and charcuterie." [An Update is in order here: The PR source who initially sent the Barry Bonds information was dead wrong(/misinformed?/made it up?). It was in fact, the Oakland Raiders' Rolando McLain, Jacoby Ford and Comcast Sports announcer Katie Longworth who were upstairs in Epic's bar. FWIW, they were enjoying cocktails, steak, mac and cheese and Charles Woodson Cabernet. Finally! Something to write home about!] [EaterWire]

THE SHUTTER - After brief stints with everything from chef Vincent Schofield to a Hawaiian-ish theme, the Sundance Kitchen restaurant adjacent to the Kabuki Theater, has closed. No word yet on its replacement. [ISSF]

CHEF SHUFFLES - Lots happening in the chef world today: Spruce executive chef Ben Cohn is outta there, Michael Mina has brought David Varley from DC's Bourbon Steak to become corporate chef for all 18 Mina restaurants, and finally Carlos Altamirano (Piqueo's, Mochica) is working on a food truck called Sanguchon. VEGAS - Hubert Keller has completed the remodel of Fleur de Lys in the Mandalay Bay casino to open Fleur, a "global tapas" restaurant. GrubStreet has a menu and more. [GrubStreet]
