HAYES VALLEY - Since CAV Wine Bar closed...err...became a private event space back in September, we've been wondering what's next over there. As it turns out the folks at Yield Wine Bar have purchased the space with hopes of opening Pause Wine Bar before month's end. [ISSF]

MISSION - Mission Chinese Food now no longer takes reservations and has new hours. Their website explains the logic behind this. [MCF]

PLYWOOD - Two fun tid bits surfaced in today's Chron Inside Scoop page: 1) Charlie Hallowell will be opening a coffee shop of sorts in the space adjacent to his Oakland success Boot & Shoe Service. Sounds as if he'll do something during the dinner hour that allows him to pool kitchen resources between the spaces, 2) Frank Klein and Chad Newton will be taking over the Jewish Community Center since Joanna Karlinsky has left the building.
