Stow Lake Boathouse Brings in La Cocina, Haven Pop-Up at Plum, A New SoMa Winery, and More!

STOW LAKE - After delays and legal complications galore, Stow Lake Boathouse reopens today with 42 new electric boats and a new menu. The planned sit-down cafe, however, is still two to three months out. In the meantime, food will be brought in from Let's Be Frank, American Box and La Cocina. In an effort to keep it real—at least ostensibly—consultant Frank Klein has decided the boathouse's hallmark kitschy pink popcorn will stick around. [Chron]

POP-UPS It wouldn't be a full day of news without something new on the pop-up front, and today we bring you the Haven preview pop-up that shall be at Plum once a week from now on. Future Haven chef Kim Alter will be showing her menu tricks, Scott Beattie will be on drinks, and pastry chef Matt Tinder will also be in full effect. The fun starts this coming Monday, and will continue weekly on Tuesdays after that. [ISSF]

NOW OPEN - Another thing to be aware of is Bluxome Street Winery (53 Bluxome St.), a new SoMa winery and event space that LiveSoma says has been open for just about a month. NOW OPEN EXTRA - Madame Tablehopper calls attention to the third new Mexican restaurant in wine country, besides La Condesa and Mateo's Cocina Latina.
