1) SoMa: Ms. Hopper passes on word that Elizabeth Falkner is converting her 3ish-year-old SoMa mega-restaurant Orson into an event and pop-up venue. So you can say goodbye to those duck fat French fries and chocolate pizzas, and say hello to E-Falk pop-ups to coincide with her Iron Chef TV appearances throughout November. As of last night, Orson was still in business as we know it, and no one knew when the last day of service would be. We'll keep you abreast of the latest. [EaterWire, Tablehopper]
2) Mission: There's also the sad news that Charanga will be closing after a 13-year run on Mission Street. Owner Gabriela Salas says the landlord has chosen not to renew her lease. They'll shutter the business some time in November. [Tablehopper]
3) Burlingame: The Spot Bagel factory, which just started distributing its bagels across the Bay Area, appears to have closed. Chowhounders have noticed their products are pulled from the shelves at Bi-Rite Market and other locations, the Twitter feed has been inactive since Sept. 30, and most importantly, the phone line isn't working.
