COMING ATTRACTIONS - The Post Ranch Inn is about as glitzy as Big Sur gets, and it's getting even glitzier in early November. Cyrus chef Douglas Keane will join the Inn for its third annual Food & Wine Weekend on November 3rd and 4th. The weekend comes at a package rate, including differently themed dinners on Friday and Saturday night, an afternoon wine tasting, accomodations and more. Find out more here. [EaterWire]
INSIDE BIERGARTEN - If you would like a preview of the freshly uncapped Biergarten in Hayes Valley, Thrillist has some lovely shots of your new, beer-serving outdoor living room. [Thrillist]
FUNDRAISERS - Always the charity-minded chef about town, Traci des Jardins is inviting four Top Chef Masters alumni into the Jardiniere kitchen with her for a new fundraiser: San Francisco No Kid Hungry. The event begins with a cocktail reception and is followed by a multi-course meal cooked by Border Grill's Mary Sue Milliken (Vegas), Beast's Naomi Pomeroy (Portland), North End Grill's Floyd Cardoz (New York) and Devi's Suvir Saran (also from New York). More info and tickets are here.
NOW OPEN - Also, no more of this soft opening, test drive business, Kare-Ken is open in the Tenderloin for really real tonight. [SFoodie]
THE SHUTTER - The confusingly named Taco's Sandwiches has bitten the dust. Maybe, in its next life, Taco's will actually sell tacos. [GrubStreet]
FOOD TRUCKS - Off the Grid's North Berkeley edition is trying something different, inviting brick-and-mortar businesses into a guest truck on select Wednesdays. Last night, Lush gelato had a go at it, and upcoming one-night-only appearances include Guerilla Cafe on October 26th, The Juice Bar Collective on November 2, Local Butcher Shop on November 9, and Taste of the Himalayas at a TBD date after that. POP-UPS - Leif Hedendal will be doing another one of his earthy dinners at the Village Market next Friday. The meal included bread from Tartine, fregula with Early Girl tomatoes and other farm-freshness. See the full menu and buy tickets here. [EaterWire]
