Little Bird No Longer, Off the Grid 2nd St., and More

THE SHUTTER - Plucky, controversy-ridden Little Bird cafe shuttered today, and with it, the Tenderloin said goodbye to overtly vegan breakfasts, kombucha and Ritual coffee for the moment. Rumor has it the owner may reopen with something more evening-oriented in the space. [The Tender]

DEAL FEED - Chipotle is selling $2 burritos, salads, and tacos from 6 p.m. onward if you show up wearing a farm-themed costume. It's all part of their cross-country Boorito Fundraiser for their Cultivate Foundation and Farm Aid. [Diablo]

FOOD TRUCKS - Off the Grid has started another lunch operation that will happen at Folsom and 2nd Streets every weekday for the next four to five months. It'll be two food trucks in front of 303 Second Street. First up: Bacon Bacon and The Chairman. More here. [SFoodie]

BAGEL WIRE - Beauty's Bagel has been one of the few Bay Area businesses to actually impress with bagels in a bagel-starved town. They make them Montreal style, meaning they're hand-rolled, then baked in a wood-fired oven. And now Inside Scoop says they're moving on from pop-ups and wholesale to actual brick-and-mortar. They plan to open with oven in tow at 3838 Telegraph Avenue in early 2012. [ISSF]
