The new era hippies over at Chez Panisse offspring OPENrestaurant have just about a week left to reach the fundraising goal for their new project. OPENharvest will travel to Japan to help food channels harmed by this year's earthquake in several ways. They'll document visits to fisherman and farmers outside the city, create a "participatory ?edible installation" in Tokyo, and promote a dialogue between producers and consumers. They'd also like to create a bi-lingual magazine to share the ideas raised during the event. But none of this will happen unless they raise a lot more dough pretty soon on Kickstarter. Hop on the bus, here. [EaterWire]
