Etcetera Wine Bar Opens Next Week in the Mission

New, 6 comments

Have a look now inside Etcetera Wine Bar, the replacement wine bar for long-gone Parea, set to open next Thursday on Valencia St. As you can see above, the space has undergone a rather substantial, rather red renovation. Reflected in the map-themed ceiling tiles, the focus of the wine list is global, inspired by owner (and Alsace, France native) Alexandra Gerteis' world travels for her prior job as the export manager for Chez Cave de Ribeauvillé.

Every month, Gerteis will do a different thematic wine flight by country, starting with riojas from Spain. Regarding the menu, people are probably going to gravitate towards the ten different variations of flammenkeuche, a traditional Alsatian thin tart. Another point of interest: Jamon Iberico "pata negra" is available on the charcuterie board upon request. Keep your eye out for flyers being distrubed nearby the wine bar this week and you might just earn yourself a free glass of sparking wine at the grand opening party next week.
