POP-UPS - Tomorrow, he of the Easy Creole pop-up, Jess McCarter will take over 450 Broadway (@ Kearny) with plans to be there Monday through Friday during an extended lunch hour (10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) for eat-in or take-out service. The menu will change often, featuring five NOLA-inspired items like gumbo, étouffée, or red beans, rice and smoked sausage. The bigger story here is that the building owner wants to turn the 2-story venue into a pop-up cafe of sorts. McCarter is looking for two more concepts to join him, so if you're interested, do reach out. [EaterWire]

COMING ATTRACTIONS - On Sunday (Nov. 20) barman extraordinaire Scott Beattie will do a holiday-themed cocktail class at Spoonbar from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Guests will learn how to make a few different festive cocktails while drinking and snacking on some goodies. Also, whoever wears the most heinous holiday sweater to the class gets free dinner at Spoonbar. More info and tickets here. [EaterWire]

PORC - Annual pork-and-wine love fest, Cochon 555, has announced its 2012 tour dates, including a stop in Portland, which they skipped over this year due to a "supposedly-drunken brawl" over a non-local pig. But anyway, the pig parade shall hit Napa on January 29, and San Francisco (the last stop) on May 20. Eater National has the full itinerary. Tickets here. [-EN-]

NOW OPEN - North Beach's contribution to the Southern food boomlet is Tupelo, and according to Inside Scoop it is open now on Grant Ave. The soul food is backed by a predominant bar and live music on the way. [ISSF, EaterWire, earlier]
