Some action of late at the former Sean men's clothing store on Union St. The new Chez Berlue, self-described as a "French upscale mini-market, food and wine" will be moving in right down the street from the brand new, "traditional French" Unique Bistro, and a gazillion other French restaurants. Now we know the Marina and Cow Hollow nabes have quite the insatiable appetite for all things French, and maybe the upscale French mini-mart niche still needs to be filled, so let's take in what's known at this point.
According to its nascent web presence, Berlue will vend "wines and charcuterie, smoked salmon, caviar and cheeses on site, recreating the French 'Apero' ambiance," and it looks like there will be white guys sniffing red wine there too. They also have French wine cellar, that's 800 bottles deep, and this list of products planned for the shelves. You know what this means? That last minute cassoulet and cannelés run is about to get way easier. Oui.
