Roxanne Sotano Inc's Sutter Pub soft-opened on Sunday with little fanfare. This marks number five in Henry Hejazi's mini empire of tourist-heavy businesses in the Lower Nob Hill area. The others being Cesario's, Persimmon Cafe, El Sotano and Roxanne Cafe. Since the Pub space formerly housed quirky gift shop Australia Fair, it's been totally converted with a bar on the left and table seating on the right hand side. Decor is dark: black and red to match the feel of this exterior you see here. The beer and wine license is expected to arrive later this month; and until then, it'll be breakfast and brunch only. When booze gets the ok, the enclosed beer taps will be unleashed, along with wine and a dinner menu. According to the book keeper on site, food will be "British pub themed" with American dishes too. And yes, there will be fish and chips. Stay tuned for more on the menu as the actual grand opening approaches.
