La%20Condesa%20Bauer.jpgLa Bamba Bauer tries out the new St. Helena branch of La Condesa, a Mexico City-inspired restaurant who's Austin sister branch nabbed a Beard nomination in 2009. "Some of the dishes lost a little in the translation, but, frankly, they could lose a lot and still be worth ordering. Fortunately, other dishes were exceptional, and it's nice to have the extensive Tequila options to add depth to Wine Country offerings." Dishes range from "brilliantly executed" (tostadas) to disappointing (chifa), and the overall rating lands at 2 stars. [Chron]
