The former RNM space in the Lower Haight will finally see life again this Wednesday when Maven (598 Haight St.) opens to the public. We've already shared the innovative menu concept from the chef team of co-owner David Kurtz and sous chef Matt Brimer. Remember former Beretta GM Jay Bordeleau is also one of the owners, and the interior certainly feels on par with some of San Francisco's more trendy haunts. Now take a look around at the work of designer Gi Paoletti.

An extra-large living wall draws the eye to a bar where former Michael Mina bartender Kate Bolton churns out light, pairing-friendly drinks. There are also new custom redwood communal tables in the dining room, a slick open kitchen, and a cozy upstairs mezzanine, complete with low-slung couches, a bar rail for eating, and the Lower Haight's first working fireplace in a restaurant. Starting Wednesday, visit Maven from 5 p.m. to midnight, daily. Brunch will get going some time in January.
