NOW OPEN - The second branch of Mayor Ed Lee's beloved Hong Kong Lounge is now open at 3300 Geary Blvd. where Pot de Pho once lived. As you can see, they've subbed bright red for the original's salmon-colored awning, and Mme. Hopper says the menu and seating will be more limited here. [EaterWire]

EXPANSION WIRE - GrubStreet reports that Local: Mission Eatery will be sprouting off a "multi-faceted" market called Local Mission Market and a nearby corner cafe called Local's Corner (2500 Bryant St.), in the new year. As of now, they plan to open the cafe in spring, serving lunch, dinner and brunch; then the market will hopefully come by summer with a "cheese counter, butcher, dry goods, and fresh produce, all either made in-house or sourced from Northern California farmers and producers." [GrubStreet]

COFFEE BUZZ - Blue Bottle is now offering bottled versions of its Kyoto and New Orleans iced coffees at its Ferry Building shop and Oakland’s Webster Street roastery. Everything was made and bottled in Oakland, and if all goes well they'll expand to more stores next year. Rock on. [ISSF]

SWITCHEROOS - An Indian establishment called Taj Express is taking over the space of the now-defunct Maharaja Indian Restaurant at 525 Valencia St. More on this as we know it, but bets are that tikka masala will be involved. [EaterWire]
