EXPANSION WIRE - The Smitten Ice Cream location in Hayes Valley is winterizing things with a new tent on site including more seats, blankets, hot cider, and eventually live music. Meanwhile, just in time for the holidays, you can rent the original Smitten mobile Kelvin ice cream maker on a wagon for parties and events. Smitten also now offers design-your-own ice cream: send in your requests, your money (packages start at $330), wait a few days, and personalized ice cream is all yours. Designer ice cream and Smitten event inquiries can be emailed to wagoneering@smittenicecream.com . [EaterWire]

POP-UPS - Even though it's on sabbatical now, Ubuntu's garden is stil growing away in Napa. To make sure produce isn't wasting, they'll be having a farmer’s market in the dining room every Friday in December from noon to 4 p.m. Chef Aaron London will be there to answer any questions you have about anything. [EaterWire]

POP-UPS EXTRA - Take a look at the temporary In-N-Out in Shanghai, complete with the sacred off-menu Animal Style option listed plain and simple on the posted menu. Apparently In-N-Out is in court with a European knockoff called CaliBurger that's got plans to enter Shanghai. So this is a bit of a preemptive strike if you will. [Serious Eats]

SPLITS VILLE - Three Babes Bakeshop is out of the agreement to enter the former Ashbury Market space with Bacon Bacon. The cafe's opening appears to be a bit delayed too. [SFoodie]
