Food & Wine Announces "People's Best New Chef" Award

Voting lines open today for a brand new competition from Food & Wine magazine, The People's Best New Chef. Or as Eatocracy elaborates, the "chef whose restaurant has most significantly stirred your soul and your palate." The options are divided into 10 regional categories, including the Pacific, which groups Los Angeles, San Francisco and Wine Country together. So while the F&W editors decide who gets the coveted Best New Chef distinction, you, dear reader can make your pick from the following nominees for this new honor: Curtis Di Fede and Tyler Rodde of Napa's Oenotri, Perry Hoffman of Yountville's Étoile, Corey Lee of Benu, Russel Moore of Oakland's Camino, Brandon Sharp of Solbar and Josh Skenes of Saison. Eater National points out you can vote for someone that's not on the short list, although it's certainly not the easiest option. So, now's as good a time as any to state your grievances with the above list and throw out additions. How about Teague Moriarty and Matt McNamara? Jason Fox? Sir fohawk? Remember, you're in charge here.
