MARINA - The Pizza Orgasmica expansion into neighboring nail shop Stephanie Nails has been approved by the Planning Commission. Now all systems are go to create a full-service pizza restaurant with more than double the seating, although ownership isn't quite ready to pass on a timeline for its completion as of yet. DOGPATCH - Michael Recchiuti of Recchiuti Confections will be taking over the former Piccino space at 801 22nd Street. Although the coming concept isn't totally dialed in yet, there's talk of beer & wine, charcuterie and cheese in addition to the obvious sweet offerings. As a result of this development, Wayne Garcia's nearby coming-son DIG wine store will no longer sell chocolate as he first planned. [SFoodie, EaterWire]
TENDERLOIN - Chairman Bao of Off the Grid food truck infamy is taking over the shuttered Little Saigon Cafe space at 670 Larkin with plans to turn it into a kitchen to support operations. In slightly more exciting news, they've also taken the adjacent former Baguette Express and hope to turn it into a takeout counter for their cult-followed bao creations. [Tenderblog]
SOUTH PARK - From the print edition of Inside Scoop we learn diminutive "authentic French" restaurant The Butler and the Chef (155 South Park Ave.) will be moving into the larger space next door at 147 South Park Ave. The new incarnation will have a wine bar and more seating inside and on the sidewalk. The move won't be complete for a few months. [Chron]
