7Hills.jpgBauerissimo hits up Seven Hills on Russian Hill, the new Italian spot from 4th generation restaurateur Alexander Alioto. The vibe progresses from "very swanky assisted-living facility" to "younger residents" "in dating mode," catering to both with a lengthy menu that mixes "traditional with modern." Lots of dishes miss the mark, like a Dungeness cannelloni with so much sauce, the "crab never had a chance." Yes, they're "still trying to find their way," but highlights like the ravioli uovo and pork riblets keep the menu in 2.5 star land. Meanwhile, sometimes "off-putting" service and menu missteps mean 2 stars overall. [Chron]
