Specchio.jpgMission Venetian restaurant Specchio (2331 Mission) now has a full liquor license and chef-owner Gino Assaf is interviewing bartenders to help him create an interesting list with Italian inflection. In semi-related news, the restaurant just earned exclusive national rights to serve the Italian, award-winning merlot, Alto Vanto. Partner Warren LeGarie fell in love with the wine in Bologna; so he and Assaf entered into a year-long to-do, brokering a USA exclusive on the wine. They describe it as "not only big and bold, but transmits a depth of flavor they were not expecting." [EaterWire]
