Kasa To The Corner, Lunch Geek Pulls A Fast One, More!

New, 2 comments

THE SHUTTER - Since Kasa Indian Eatery put its Fillmore Street branch on the market in November of last year, Signore Lucchesi reports that it's now officially shuttered and there's a new TBA taker at the space. The silver lining is Kasa will be bringing an interesting regional menu of Punjabi cuisine to The Corner this Thursday and every subsequent Thursday if things go to plan. Chef Anamika Khamm is excited to test out new dishes and work in the less-casual, table-service format. The Castro Kasa, of course, is still alive and well. [Kasa Indian, ISSF]

MID-MARKET - SFoodie discovers that Lunch Geek has shuttered the location it opened in May and is in the midst of a relaunch in the former Cafico (1475 Market St.) across the street. They're serving the Cafico menu for a bit as they get their bearings. Not to worry, the Lunch Geek sandwich menu will be back in a few weeks with what sounds like a few new bells and whistles.

POP-UPS - Santa Barbara-based Telegraph Brewing Company is rolling a keg into the new Vinyl Wine Bar at Cafe Divis to beef up their regularly scheduled Casey's Pizza night tomorrow. There will be four craft beer specials offered along with the usual house made artisan pizzas. [EaterWire]

POP-UPS EXTRA! - A little further down the line (March 21) cooking with Leif is doing one of his crunchy vegetarian tasting dinners at Outerlands with two seatings: 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for $60. Email cavolonero at gmail dot com for a reservation. [EaterWire]

ONLY IN SAN FRANCISCO- Since drugs seem to be coming up a lot today, let's talk about local pot edibles brand Organic Canna's new marijuana-loaded version of the traditional Dutch caramel cookie waffle, stroopwafel. According to SFoodie, it tastes like cannabis-infused butter, sugar and a quarter of a cookie is all you really need. [SFoodie]
