NORTH BEACH - It still looks like Joey & Eddie's over on Stockton Street, but the Marlowe ladies new spot Park Tavern is moving forward. Owner Anna Weinberg says in the best case scenario they'll be open on August 1st. Worst case scenario is September 1, depending on the liquor licensing process. [EaterWire]

THE MISSION - You may have tried Venga Empanadas at Heart or other markets around town. But now they're moving on up to the brick-and-mortar at 443 Valencia Street. Owner Manuel Godino hopes to open around the beginning of April. [ISSF]

INNER RICHMOND - We were hoping the Volar Karaoke owners meant to write "ramen restaurant" -- not "Roman restaurant" -- on their Planning Commission documents. And now the liquor license application comes through, touting "Volar Ramen Lounge" will be added to the existing karaoke operation. All's right with the world. [EaterWire]

SAN RAMON - Michael LeBlanc of Oakland's Pican will take over the former Mudd's Restaurant at 10 Broadway Place to open another Southern food restaurant with a Cali slant. The working name is Pican Gardens because there's a lovely al fresco area on the property. This one will open in late 2012 "at the earliest." [SFGate]
