BetelnutExterior.jpgFresh off the plane from Malaysia, Madame Unterman takes a trip to the Marina's Betelnut to eat Borneo-born chef Alexander Ong's interpretations of his native cuisine. She tries "creamy, crusty, deep-fried black pepper chicken livers" (now only available to Blackboard Eats members), devotes some ink to the curry laksa and roti prata; then she finds "pure comfort food" in his Penang noodles. Other things to get: cured lamb tongue and her "favorite" fish head tamarind curry available by 24-hour pre-order. "This velvety curry, a bowl of rice and a damp napkin at the end, constitute a perfect evening." [Examiner]
