After a brief shutter, Solstice has officially stepped into the modern era with its fancy new deep pinkish color, banquettes, floors and an additional floating bar seating area opposite the original main bar. Owners Matt Sturm and Chris Cronk, who have done a great job of maintaining a very loyal local fan base here, have added further entertainment via four very hip Silvertap Wines on tap, the same brand used by Out the Door Bush, Roam and other local spots. Food-wise the original small plate menu format circa 2003 is back in the rotation along with this new family style menu, offering a few pizettas, sliders, fried fish tacos and other crowd-pleasers. They've also thrown in the towel on the formerly mojito-heavy cocktail menu for this guy offering au courant classic things like a sazerac, raspberry rickey and dark and stormy. Because, as we all know, old is new again. Have a report on "the new Solstice," please drop it here.
