OAKLAND - Gary Rizzo's remodel of the iconic Kwik Way at Lakeshore is complete. All of the expected fries, burgers and shakes are there; but no drive-through this time around. Interestingly, the menu includes several 10" pizzas, salads and fried chicken. Early reports, here please. [ISSF]
CHEFS & CARS - So much chef/car gossip these days. Remember there's Thomas Keller and BMW. Now the latest to get in on the chef sponsorship game is Lexus. They just formed the Lexus Culinary Masters including Morimoto, Michael Chiarello, Christopher Kostow and then Dean Fearing, Daniel Boulud and Michael Symon. The newly Lexus-appointed chefs will team up for the first time at Pebble Beach Food & Wine on two (already sold out) events: a cooking demo and tasting and then this "Remix" event, billed as "the hippest, most happening dinner" at Pebble Beach this year. MINI-SHUTTER - Juhu Beach Club will be closed until April 26 because chef owner Preeti Mistry has headed to New Orleans. Keep up with the pop-up's every movement here on Facebook. [7x7]
LAUNCHES & RELEASES - The website for the Delfina people's new offshoot, Locanda has gone live. Owners Craig & Annie Stoll are planning to open her up for business next week as planned. [EaterWire]
