THE MISSION - On a fairly regular basis, diners at Matt Straus' Heirloom Cafe fall in love with his gnocchi. Now he's offering a two hour, lunch-time "gnocchi-making demonstration and gnocchi-eating experience" for a mere $20. More can be found here on pricing and timing for the two planned in late May. MID-MARKET - Next Thursday the 28th, Show Dogs will start doing bi-monthly events with unlimited beer, wine and bites for rotating charities. Proceeds from next week's party will go to the SF Food Bank, May 8th will go to Keen SF. CHEF SHUFFLES - A slew of chef updates this afternoon from Sir Lucchesi over at the Chron. Chris Jones of Napa staples The Girl & The Fig and Estate will replace Anne Gingrass-Paik as the chef at Brix in Napa. Former Betelnut and Red Lantern chef Daniel Sudar has been enlisted as chef at Fog City Diner to take the restaurant back to its original "eclectic California small plates cuisine."
