Hudson%20Reviewed.jpgNow in Oakland, Justice of Bauer notices John Hurley has achieved an almost-unimaginable comeback with Hudson in the space that once housed Garibaldi's and Marzano. The interior "look is sleek." But food-wise, he only really likes the pizza ("seductive charred blisters") and the burger ("something to return for"). Bauer finds fault with almost every other menu item and "for the most part, desserts need to be rethought." Yet he seems to see potential: "With its handsome interior and amiable service, Hudson is already a good stop if you live in the East Bay. With a little more concentration in the kitchen the restaurant should be able to draw people from all over the Bay Area." 2 stars. [Chron]
