This week we've been over the fact that the Bay Area has more than a few burgers. With all the options out there, there are bound to be a few that go above and beyond standard beef and buns. Today, we've found the burgers with the most flair. These wild contenders will blow your mind. This is Stunt Burger- and these crazy concoctions are leaving us jaw-dropped and wanting more.
Straw's "Ringmaster": This Hayes Valley establishment is going Carney on San Francisco by serving up Niman Ranch burgers on house-glazed ringed doughnuts. Crazy? -Maybe. Delicious? -It's sweet and salty. You tell us.
Seasons Bar & Lounge's "DFB": This burger may not look wild, but wait for what the "DF" stands for: Duck Fat. This 10 ounce patty is 80% all American Kobe beef ground with 20% pure duck fat. Topped with creamy white Lincolnshire Poacher cheddar cheese and served on a buttery Acme brioche bun, this burger quacks with unctuous decadence. We feel outrageous just saying its name.
Spork's "In-Side-Out Burger": It's exactly what it sounds like: two thick 4 ounce Marin Sun grass-fed beef patties sandwiched around a house brioche bun, piled high with Tillamook cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, apple wood smoked bacon, and love. You'll definitely need a fork and knife for this backwards bad boy.
15 Romolo's "Yo-Mama": This North Beach bar is serving up libations and bar bites with a side of crazy. Ordering a burger "yo-mama" style will get you a 4 ounce patty topped with bacon and peanut butter, and people are going gaga over it. It's Jiff- like yo mama use to feed you.
Uncle Boy's "Mama-Mia": This quirky Italian contender is a burger plus a side of mozzi sticks stuffed in it- 4 mozzarella sticks, slathered in zesty marinara sauce, and then topped with more Jack cheese.
Cheers to the exciting burgers at Straw, Seasons Bar & Lounge, Spork, 15 Romolo, and Uncle Boy's for being crazy enough to make the Stunt Burger list.
