In the wake of the frightening three alarm fire in the Outer Mission on Wednesday night, we learn 12 people were left temporarily homeless. One injured fireman is expected to recover completely. On the restaurant front, Vietnamese spot Lotus Garden suffered the worst damage. Owner Kathy Tang says they're closed indefinitely. Remarkably, Blue Plate was unscathed and Los Panchos just suffered a little damage to one bathroom and the back of the building. Tonight El Rio will host an emergency benefit with 100% of proceeds going directly to the victimized neighbors. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
