Can We Fix Sixth Street?

New, 3 comments

PassionForSale.jpgSteve Barton, the owner of Passion Cafe who was unexpectedly attacked in his restaurant, has indeed put his place up for rent. Even though the SFPD has added a Mobile Command Unit across the street and Barton was quoted saying "I've never seen Sixth more civilized," as a result; LiveSoma notes the larger issues aren't getting any better. The "sale of crack pipes and alcohol in Sixth Street (and Tenderloin) convenience stores" is still widespread and the City has created a "hot zone" of low income housing, "accessible liquor stores and welfare benefits and services" for recovering addicts.
