To the chagrin of many, refined-seeming deal site Blackboard Eats asked subscribers to pay $1 fee for its offers just a few months after launching. Now, just as the luxurious Gilt Taste is unleashed, the internet deal site has decided they're "going back to their roots" after a "five month experiment" and eliminating the fee. A survey determined "the $1 fee, introduced to scale the limited quantity of passcodes available, hindered the elegant and easy experience of BlackboardEats’ renowned Specials." Seems like a lot of fuss over a buck, but it does matter, to a lot of people. [EaterWire]
