A week ago, four of San Francisco's mobile pizza vendors gathered together at Coffee Bar to compete in a "Nomadic Pizza Throwdown" for the good of Japan. Everyone in attendance tried taster slices from Pizza Politana, Casey's Pizza, Copper Top Ovens and Fist of Flour. Then they voted on their favorite. After three straight hours of heated pizza consumption, Copper Top Ovens' elaborate lamb, scallion and fresh rosemary number was the crowd favorite. We'll argue it's tough for a plain old margherita to compete with that, but anyway. At the end of the day, $2480.00 was raised for the cause. And we're left wondering how Pizza Hacker would've fared in all this. [EaterWire]
