The day is nigh for The Boxing Room, this handsome buck you see here, opening tomorrow in Hayes Valley, where Citizen Cake once stood. We've already brought you many a detail on the Cajun/NOLA-themed venture from the Absinthe people. And now it's time to take a walk through the interior in the gallery above. Also, the menus.
A chunk of chef Justin Simoneaux's dinner items come in under $15, as promised. The wine list a la Arlequin Wine Merchant's Ian Becker boasts six local offerings on tap and an assemblage of food-friendly whites and bold reds to compliment the food. Beersinclude a near-ridiculous 20 on-tap. And then there's dessert—not to be missed—as pedigreed pastry chef Bill Corbett is taking a sweeter tack than he's used to. The Boxing Room opens for dinner tomorrow at 5 p.m. Weekday lunch and Bayou-themed brunch are on the way in about a month. As always, your early reports are so very welcome here . Website.
