Kitty's Calls It Quits In The East Bay

Six-year-old bar and DJ venue, Kitty's will be closing up shop at the end of July. The last time Kitty's hit the news big, was earlier this year, when 180 people broke out in a barfight that took 35 police officers to break up. Today owner Kitty Faria says she's been forced to cease operations because the city of Emeryville took away her cabaret license. "We have no plans to reopen elsewhere," says Faria. "I will be moving to Brazil, and starting something there."
