NOW OPEN - The people who had the gall to name their restaurant The Wurst opened for business yesterday in Healdsburg. According to Inside Scoop, there's a 10-foot "glossy" wiener sign marking the spot where sausage and beer should flow with abundance. Also look out for the "L.A. theater district industrial" decor. HAYES VALLEY - GrubStreet hears tell of a bakery moving into the long-shuttered Bistro Clovis space on Market Street. That's it. [GrubStreet]

TIP JAR - An early report on Boxing Room came today over the EaterWire: "I payed a visit to The Boxing Room on Thursday night and the food was actually well priced. Portions were good sized and very flavorful. We ordered the Fried Chicken that was served with a delicious corn side and ROOM TEMPERATURE Mashed Potatoes! Besides the temperature differences on the plate I was very impressed by the Fried Chicken." [EaterWire]

EAST BAY - The EBX is on the pulse of the hard-to-track, yet delicious tamales sold by one Mary Gutierrez out of a food stand at MacArthur Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr:"a relatively thin sheath of masa surrounding a shredded mass of nicely seasoned chicken, even better with a few spoonfuls of Gutierrez' own tart, slushy tomatillo salsa."
