HechoReviewed.jpgBauer-san isn't entirely pleased by the Mexican-Japanese epicurean mashup that is Joe Manzare's new Hecho: "If the food was on the mark, the concept might work. But after three visits, I found the experience uneven and a little perplexing...We spent nearly $150 for two and I could have eaten more." Bauer enjoys flash-fried tofu and some "excellent" skewers (especially short ribs), "yet the pleasure we derived from some dishes was derailed by others." Add in service that "can be as inconsistent as the food," and it's a two star shin dig down in the FiDi. [Chron]
