The Beast and the Hare will start serving brunch on July 10th. Chef-owner Ian Marks says the opening menu will focus on five dishes, including a Monte Cristo with charcuterie, cheese and jam on house-made bread and—the star dish— a French toast pancake. Marks took the cue for this from a nine-year-old patron named Anna Bella who had the idea to dip a pancake in French toast batter and then cook it. "It's awesome how kids can think the way they think. And it's right in my wheel house," says Marks. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday only. [EaterWire]
