Kasa's Kati Roller Takes The Streets Next Week

Kasa Indian Eatery's Kati Roller food truck will surface at Off the Grid events after July 4th, serving up the same kati rolls, house-made chai and mango lassis that are ever-so-popular at the restaurant. Appropriately, the Roller is tacking on some "classic" Indian street foods like Amritsari fish with papaddum and chutney and Pav Bhaji, a sort of vegetarian sloppy joe served with lime on a toasted buttery dinner roll. You may be interested to know this truck was among the 15 allowed to apply for one of the City's new reduced-price permits after camping out next to City Hall for an entire weekend.

The truck is really hoping to make it to the FiDi as well—a step owner Suresh Khanna says is crucial to success. That fate will most likely be determined tomorrow at the public hearing at the Department of Public Works. You can read about how to help it get off the ground here. And, as always, look out for updates on the Twitter feed.
