This weekend San Francisco gets its first brunch truck. See here, The Brunch Box, owned by Eat Curbside co-owner Eric Rud and Chairman Bao alum Caroline Hummer, who smartly snagged this puppy on Craigslist in Los Angeles, fully equipped with a steam table, warming oven, fryer, flat top, four burners and an oven. "How else would we pull off poached eggs on a truck?" says Hummer. The truck's "very special" arty design is the result of extensive trials with local guy Michael Jeter. Its menu—a California-inspired list of things like ricotta pancake soufflés and pork belly hash—is a collaboration from Hummer and Rud, who's also a Cordon Bleu grad.
Look for these guys outside Ritual Coffee Roasters in the Mission on Saturday and at the Hayes Valley Proxy location on Sunday. Depending how things go, they might even be outside Sightglass Coffee's new digs on Friday. As usual, there's nothing like the Twitter for last minute updates on times and locations. And in other semi-related breaking food truck news, Bacon Bacon should be announcing a location for today's lunch debut any second now.
