Following big-time investor David Fink's exodus from all things Hotel Luca in March, employees at its adjacent restaurant Cantinetta Piero were told on Tuesday that Wednesday "would be their last night." The future of the restaurant remains in limbo and, naturally, rumors are circulating about the next concept. As blogger Tim Costner points out many are spreading hopeful speculation that the Solage people have plans to take over and put Redd executive chef Richard Reddington at the helm of a new concept. Well one part of the rumor is true...sort of. The owners of Solage Hotel and Resorts have recently been enlisted to control the hotel and the restaurant, but, again, the future of both properties remains in the air. Very-well-connected insiders at Redd insist the rumors are just rumors and there is "no done deal."
