Following last week's news that Plate Shop renegade Kim Alter will be teaming up with Daniel Patterson for his Oakland project (formerly known as Bracina), comes news of said project's new name: Haven. According to Inside Scoop, Alter came up with the name, which implies the "warm, embracing, and inviting" vibe she and D-Patt are going for. So far, plans are in place for a 65 seater (including a dining counter), an additional bar/lounge area, and a patio. Not much more is known about the interior design at this time.

Barman Scott Beattie—who's nailing down the final details of Plum Bar before its late Sept. opening—will be creating the bar program. He says it'll be more of a classic, ingredient driven menu than what he's doing at Plum. There will be great renditions of a Pimm's Cup, margarita, mojito and other time-honored drinks. Haven should be open before the end of the year.
