Anonymous tipsters and various blog reports continue to feed the fire of Anthony Bourdain spottings across the land. Earlier this morning, Bourdain tweetage detailed his stops last night: "Li Po, the Comstock, Mr. Bing's, then Sam's Burgers." Then a tipster spotted him "walking with someone shorter and with much less hair than him" this morning crossing California Street on Mason. "There was a crew of around four people with him, including a cameraman who appeared to be filming." Just minutes ago, La Folie's revered Roland Passot confirms he and Bourdain ate "breakfast" together at 10 a.m. this morning at Swan Oyster Depot. The chefs, who've been friends for years, shared oysters, a play on corn chowder with oysters and crab, "gorgeous, gourgeous" sea urchin (Passot thinks it was from Santa Barbara) and bread dipped in the juices of Dungeness crab. Here's further photo evidence in tweet form.
Bourdain came in yesterday and plans to leave town tomorrow, keeping true to new show The Layover's goal of tapping out a destination in under 48 hours. Eater HQ has also fielded rumors that "He's at Mission Chinese today," as well. And he'll be squeezing in "mostly counter food" in order to max out his visit. The crew will be in town filming various San Francisco scenes through Saturday. San Francisco, you never cease to amaze with your levels of voyeuristic craziness. Keep those insidery tips coming .
