UNDERAGE - According to the Fermentation blog, there's an outbreak of Sonoma Valley teens loitering outside wineries with elaborate scams to nab bottles of wine. Here's a sample plea: "Hey, sir...would you mind picking up a couple of bottles of Grenache for me? I lost my ID and I'm supposed to bring a couple of bottles to a dinner party with old friends." This has never happened to anyone in our offices, so if you've fallen victim to this sort of fraud, do tell . [F]

NOW OPEN- Right on time, Local Cafe unleashes its very first morning scones and lunch-time egg salad sandwiches onto Piedmont Ave. today in Oakland.
