New Trucks Sell Just What You Wanted: Flatbreads...& Dosas

Photo: Courtesy of Vesta

Since food trucks are the new pie (or was it the other way around?), it's time to bring two new wheeled vendors to your attention, filling the desperately empty niches of flatbreads and dosas. First up, Bay Area Bites and Ms. Hopper bring word that East Bay farmers market regular Vesta Flatbread is officially going mobile tomorrow, though Eater's told it's just a private soft launch of sorts. The seafoam and bright yellow eye grabber you see here will be offering up something like this menu of sandwiches, built on flatbreads baked by three Arizmendi Bakery alums. Owner Traci Prendergast says they'll be at Off the Grid and other events soon and you can follow Twitter or Facebook for location announcements.

Secondly, Off the Grid staple Curry Up Now shall be one of the first trucks to launch another truck. Possibly inspired by the recent release of Kasa's Kati Roller, Curry Up Now's still unnamed new truck will be devoted to dosas filled with the same things they currently offer inside their kathi rolls. They'll also sell Indian donuts and—wait for it—a new uttapam-taco mashup. Seriously, what will they think of next?
