Dessert For a Cause, Dogpatch Eats and Whole Animals Ablaze

SOMA - August 14th local pastry chefs will be giving you some sugar at Project Open Hand's 11th Annual Dessert First which features desserts, signature cocktails and live entertainment with 100% of the proceeds going to Project Open Hand’s meal and nutrition services. Don't delay pleasure! This event is all about immediate gratification. DOGPATCH - Oh Dogpatch, you are just too cool for school and now Bold Italic wants to share your many glories with the rest of the City. The 3rd Base: A Dogpatch Microhood event at 3rd Street & 22nd on August 11 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Stops on the hipster tour include Acupuncture Kitchen's Elixir Bar, a sneak peek at Magnolia Pub and Brewery, a grill stop at Olivier's Butchery, wine and chocolate pairing at Poco Dolce factory tours at Rickshaw Bagworks and more. NAPA - Heritage Fire is the last stop on the 2011 Cochon 555 tour. Taking place on August 13 at Charles Krug in Napa it's less pig centric and features wood-fired whole animal theatre cooking, butcher demos, cured meats, wood-fired cheeses, hand-made sausages, heirloom vegetables, craft cheese and boutique brews.
