Liberty Cafe Will Get A Nice Makeover, Tony's Pizza Napoletana Now Offers Jagermeister Caprese Skewers, More!

MISSION/BERNAL HEIGHTS - This is a picture of El Amigo's blackberry margarita made with 100% blue agave tequila. Remember this is the recently revamped tequila bar next to Emmy's Spaghetti Shack that used to have kind of a bad attitude towards its customers sometimes. Now it might be worth stopping into even if you're not waiting for some cooler-than-thou meatballs next door. [EaterWire]

BERNAL HEIGHTS EXTRA - The new owners of Liberty Cafe have stood up and announced themselves. Vega of neighboring Vega Pizza is taking over, with a plan to keep the name intact but "bring it back to life." She's hoping they won't even have to take any days off for the switch over. [ISSF]

NORTH BEACH - Starting now, Tony's Pizza Napoletana is going to start offering a list of "Speakeasy Sunday" "late night" specials that have beer or liquor in every single one. From 10:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. you'll be able to get things like Jagermeister Caprese skewers, Lillet Blanc Fries and Anchor Steam Corned Beef. They'll also add on some classic cocktails for the occasion like—whoa—a Fernet milkshake. [EaterWire]

BERKELEY - If you go to the new Local Butcher Shop in North Berkeley, John Birdsall thinks you should definitely eat the chips: "They’re skin-on potato chips, fried in a mixture of rendered beef fat and vegetable oil, thin, crisp, and un-greasy. Nice." [EBX]
