Chef Matt Colgan and Jack Knowles, the men of Oakland's small plates standby À Côté, have decided to reopen their shuttered Citron space as a "downscale American restaurant and bar" called Next Door. Tying things together, the new name happens to be the English translation of à côté. But that's not all these guys are up to. Colgan and Knowles Latin-themed 175-seater in Glenview, Rumbo al Sur, is preparing for a hopeful opening sometime in September and their Mission project, Preservation Hall is still on tap for next year. White tablecloths are not predicted at any of the above.
